Minister Hadja Lahbib presented her policy note today in the Chamber Committee on Foreign Affairs. There was significant focus on Belgium’s role during the first half of the year when it takes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Belgium co-organises ministerial events on children's and women's rights and climate change - UNGA78 in New York
During her visit to New York for the UNGA78, the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hadja Lahbib will chair a number of ministerial side-events on behalf of our country, in collaboration with European and international partners. Belgium is invited to co-organise a number of events because of its high profile as a defender of children's and women's rights.

New Belgian aid package approved for Ukraine
Upon the proposal of Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib and Minister of Development Cooperation Caroline Gennez, the Council of Ministers approved a new financial support package for Ukraine on 16 June 2023. These include support of NATO initiatives for Ukraine and Moldova, the UN Fund to Support Women's Organizations, the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Trust Fund for Victims of the International Criminal Court.
