Tunisia: Visit of foreign ministers of Belgium and Portugal on behalf of High Representative/Vice-President Josep Borrell

Hadja Lahbib, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade, and Federal Cultural Institutions of Belgium, and João Gomes Cravinho, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, will travel to Tunisia on behalf of the European Union High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security/Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, on 9 and 10 May.
 
Tunisia is a neighbouring country and a long-term partner of the European Union. The EU is closely following the situation in the country, including the latest developments.
 
During their visit, ministers will recall the importance of the partnership with Tunisia and the EU's willingness to continue supporting the Tunisian people. The ministers will discuss with the Tunisian authorities the situation in the country and relations with the European Union in the context of the association agreement between Tunisia and the EU. The ministers will convey key political messages on behalf of High Representative Borrell and the 27 EU member states.
